Feldermelder & Vic Bang — Noizu
Feldermelder and Vic Bang collaborate on the EP «Noizu» as part of COINCIDENCIA, an exchange program initiated by Buenos Aires based multi-disciplinary venue Roseti.
The two artists were invited to take part in Roseti's streaming event #Rosetiencasa by providing a pre-reorded live set on video, and engaging in an hour long discussion about their individual musical approaches and the broader contexts of experimental electronic music in Europe and South America. Interviewed by Roseti's Matias Coulasso, Victoria Barca (Vic Bang) and Manuel Oberholzer (Feldermelder) gave insights into composition routines and lockdown strategies.
Following this initial encounter, the two artists exchanged musical fragments, field recordings and samples that finally became this EP. The result of this month-long collaboration is being released parallelly on the record labels TVL Rec (ARG) and -OUS (CH). The EP will be presented live on radio CASo (Centro de Arte Sonoro) in Buenos Aires on March 21, 2021. The project is part of the program "COINCIDENCIA" Switzerland - South America Cultural Exchanges of the Swiss Foundation for Culture Pro Helvetia.
Vic Bang is the solo project of Buenos Aires based artist Victoria Barca. Vic marshals miniature sounds, crisp samples, micro-melodies and eclectic rhythms to cultivate a tiny and organic chaos. Victoria has been involved in different experimental music projects since 2006, and released her first album under the Vic Bang alias, "Blop", through Abyss label. Her second album, "Lira", was released on Kit records (UK).
